How much money can I send?

There is no limit to the amount that can be sent. However, for any amount, it may be necessary to provide us with additional information including an ID and other necessary documentation that will help us ensure a safe and secure transfer as well as to comply with Anti Money Laundering regulations.

How can I obtain the best exchange rate?

Exchange rates may vary on a daily basis. Our Unidos Agents and Stores provide among the most competitive exchange rates available for any country to which we transfer money.

What are the money transfers fees?

Our Fees vary depending on how much you are sending and where you are sending to, however Unidos offers some of the most competitive pricing in the industry.

What payout correspondents are available to send money?

Which currencies can be sent and received?

All Money Transfers are paid for in U.S. dollars. The Recipient will be paid out in either local currency or U.S. dollars. For detailed information of your destination country and correspondent please contact our Customer Service team at 1-800-317-6055.

What delivery methods can I choose from?

We have 3 available Delivery Options:

Cash pickup:Your recipient may pick up cash at one of our 125,000 payment locations in more than 20 countries. All they need to pick up the cash is a valid government issued photo ID and the transaction number (CLAVE) that was provided to the sender. You can find this number on your receipt.

Bank deposit:In order for your recipient to get the money via a Bank Deposit, you would just need to know your recipients bank and corresponding account number. The money will be available the recipient’s bank account in minutes

Home Delivery: This service is only available for Dominican Republic and Philippines.

Does the Home Delivery option have an extra cost?

No, it doesn’t. However, this service is only available for Dominican Republic and Philippines.

How long does a money transfer usually take?

Money availability varies by country and the selected delivery method. Money availability can take up to one business day, however transfers are usually available for your recipients in minutes.

Certain events that can slow down the process are:

  • Pay network processing hours
  • Additional information required by compliance, by recipient’s bank or by financial institution.
  • Branch location business hours, delivery hours, and holidays
  • Errors on your recipient details

What information does the recipient need to pick up the money?

When picking up cash, your recipient will need the Transaction number (CLAVE) that appears in your receipt along with a valid government-issued photo ID with their signature.

Can I make changes to my transaction?

To avoid delays on your transaction, we encourage you to verify all transaction details before you complete the transaction. Depending on the correspondent, changes are very limited for changing or correcting the name of recipient. If you need to change the correspondent or amount sent you must cancel the transaction and process a new one, we cannot change a transaction if it has already been claimed or paid.

Cancel or Refund a Transaction

How do I cancel a money transfer?

If you want to cancel a transaction, you would have a 30-minute window after completing the transaction, this should be done at your Unidos Agent location.

If you need to cancel your transaction after 30 minutes, go to your nearest Unidos Agent and they will process the cancelation for you with our Customer Service team.

How long can the cancellation of a money transfer take?

If you cancel your transaction within 30 minutes and funds were not picked up, deposited or delivered, we cancel your money transfer immediately.

If you cancelled your transaction 30 or more minutes after you completed your transaction, and funds were not picked up, deposited or delivered, the cancellation will take 2 to 4 hours. Some correspondents may take up to 48 hours to process cancellations.

Are there additional fees to make changes or cancellations?

No, there are no additional fees for changes or cancellations.

If I cancel or void a money transfer, when will I get my refund?

If you cancel or voided your transaction within 30 minutes and funds were not picked up, deposited or delivered, we will refund you immediately.

If you cancelled your transaction 30 or more minutes after you completed your transaction, and funds were not picked up, deposited or delivered, the refund will take 2 to 4 hours. Some correspondents may take up to 48 hours to process refunds.

How can I know if my money transfer was already paid?

What ID’s are accepted by Unidos?

Unidos requires a current (not expired) form of government-issued identification with photograph, such as:

  • A valid State issued driver’s license
  • A valid State issued non-driver identification card
  • A State issued ID
  • A US issued work permit
  • A US issued alien registration card
  • A valid US or foreign passport
  • A Resident Alien card
  • A National Identification card (‘Cedula,’ ‘Registro Consular,’ ‘Tarjeta de Elector,’).
  • The social security card is not a valid form of identification

How can I pay a bill?

You just have to visit your nearest Unidos Agent location and provide the biller’s name and corresponding account number.

What information do I need to pay a bill?

The only information you need to pay a bill is the Biller’s name and the account number.

How long will it take for my payment to go through?

That would depend on the Service Type option you choose. We offer Same Day, Next Day and 2-3 Day payment options, depending on what the biller accepts.

Is there a limit on how many bills I can pay?

No, there’s no limit. You can pay as many bills as you want.

Getting Started

How do I top-up my phone?

You just have to visit your nearest Unidos agent location, bring the phone number or account you want to top-up. We offer Top Up Reload, Top Up ePin and Top Up Pinless.

Can I Top-Up any amount?

There are carriers that provide a range for you to decide how much to reload. Other Carriers have fixed values. Your Unidos agent will be happy to give you all the available options. Also, you can contact our Customer Service team at 1-800-317-6055, and they will be able to answer all your questions related to Top-Ups.

How quickly does the Top-Up get there?

  • For national and international reloads, funds are loaded in real-time.
  • For ePIN, the customers choose when to load their funds and do so by calling the toll-free number indicated on their receipt. Once the reload is completed, the funds are immediately available.

How will I know my Top-Up was successful?

Once the Top Up has been processed, the Reloaded Phone will get a text message with the payment confirmation and the amount loaded. Also you can contact our customer service department at 1-800-317-6055, provide us with your receipt number and we can verify the status of your Top-Up.

Is there a limit to how many Top-Ups my recipient can get?

No, there’s no limit, you can Top Up as many phones as you want and as many times as you need to.

Are there any fees to top-up my mobile account?

Top-up fees may vary depending the top-up option you want. We offer top-up Reload, ePin, and Pinless.

Cancellations

Can I cancel a Top-Up?

No, unfortunately you cannot cancel the transaction as the credit is sent immediately to the mobile phone number you provided. We strongly recommend you to carefully verify all your transaction details before you finish your transaction, to avoid sending reloads to the wrong number.

What can I do if my recipient doesn’t receive the credit on his account?

Mobile service providers may experience a system delay that prevents a top up from being processed immediately, if you recipient does not receive the credit on his account after 1 hour, please contact our Customer Service team at 1-800-317-6055 and provide the details of your order, we will help you follow up with the Mobile Service Company.

I received a confirmation SMS but my contact says s/he hasn’t received the credit.
